Claimar Care Services emerged from a family desire to create a service of excellence caring for vulnerable people living at home provided by staff who care about what they are doing. The drive is to retain the family feel of the company no matter how large it grows.
To keep the family feeling of the company strong as the company grows everyone has to work hard to keep its reputation for being a home care provider who really cares about is service users and staff.
It can get more difficult as a company grows in size unless everyone plays a part. Distances, different perceptions of how to do the job, time pressure can all be problems. We have to listen, communicate effectively, be flexible, interested, and do our own work in such a way that we feel proud of the service Claimar provides.
No one person makes a service a great service it is the team work which makes it happen. Claimar employs helpful professional people working hard every day to prove the services to our service users.
What Skills do Staff Need?
Care staff working out in the community in peoples own homes on behalf of Claimar need to have an empathy with people and see the work as a special job which requires special skills. They need Caring and strong management direction to be able to understand what the organisations expects of them day to day. They need support and to feel valued for the magnificent job they do out there in the service users home
Teams Leaders and Managers in the branches of Claimar Care need helpful and flexible care staff to manage what can be a fast moving service. Change is a constant situation. Services User's needs change sometimes daily. This can mean the work of the people who co-ordinate the service has pressure and problems which require their special skills to manage. They need to have the skills to understand how to lead direct and manage people and to know about the fundamental values of care work. They need support and understanding from Care Staff about the daily pressures and a supportive head office and senior management team to manage and support their efforts to cover work and assist care staff.
Senior Managers and Administration staff need to be able to 'Knit' the work of the whole organisation together. They have the job of making sure everything is moving in the same direction. These people need the skills and abilities appropriate to their role.
It takes the individual effort, interest, abilities and skills of each and every person employed by the company to create the Claimar Team. In other words to keep our reputation and feel proud of the company and the service we provide we must all move in the same direction.
